Thursdays in Black – Artivism

Thursday 12th August – 10am - 1pm

The Link

Thursdays in Black is a student-led movement working towards a world free from sexual violence. We believe sexual violence is a significant problem on tertiary campuses, but we believe that a different reality is possible.

We believe the way to change statistics about sexual violence is to: see, acknowledge, understand and address these issues. We encourage all students and staff of the University of Otago to stand with us, and wear black every Thursday to show support and solidarity for survivors of sexual violence.

On the Thursday of Art Week (12 August), our activism will be done through art. We want to help the community stand in solidarity with survivors through our Thursdays in Black "Artivism" event. Bring in your black clothing, or get a black shirt from us on the day, and we will screen print it with the Thursdays in Black logo right there in front of you!
