Minimalist Tino
Digital Design by Kahu
This pattern is inspired by the Tino Rangatiratanga flag, which was designed by Hiraina Marsden, Jan Smith and Linda Munn in 1989 to represent the three realms of being recognised within te ao Māori.
The black section symbolises te kore (the void / realm of potential being). The red section symbolises te whai ao (the dawn, the realm of becoming). The white koru pattern in the centre of the design symbolises te ao marama (the world of light, the realm of being and life).
The Tino Rangatiratanga design is used by Kākahu Kāhu with the explicit permission of the copyright holder Linda Munn.
